Provincial Lamb Festival
It is celebrated in mid-January since 1996 together with the
Kid National Festival. The exposition is an important event
for sheep breeders both local and from other provinces.
There are prizes for winning animals, evaluated by a jury of
recognized local professionals and special guests. |

Provincial Snow Festival
Malargue counts with the most important ski centre in the
province since 1994 and the city is hostess to this
important fiesta. It is mainly a tourist event with
activities in both, the Valle de Las Leñas and the city of
Malargue. |

It marks the beginning of the winter season in Mendoza and it
celebrates two of the most important tourist products the province
has: snow and wine.
There are fashion shows, art exhibitions, artistic shows, dinners,
and bonfire events in Las Leñas and the City of Malargue.
Harvest Festival of the District
This is the celebration that the Malargue district organizes
previous to the National Harvest Festival which takes place in March
every year in the city of Mendoza. It is organized every year during
the first fortnight of January and, since 1988 it is celebrated
simultaneously with the Kid Festival. It consists of a harvest
(”Vendimia”) show with the participation of local dance academies,
local artistic shows and special guests. A Festival queen is elected
every year.

Argentine- Chilean Encounter
End of January o beginning of February. This is one of
the most important cultural events that take place
between Argentina and Chile. There are festive
celebrations at the International Pehuenche Crossing in
the Andes and also at the Malargue Cultural and Sports
Centre. |

Chivinsud
This event consists of combining the sensorial characteristics of a
particular wine and dishes made with goat meat presenting similar or
corresponding sensorial characteristics.
There is jury evaluating the best combinations regarding the dish
and the best wine to accompany it. The winner will be promoted with
all yearly tourist activities where Malargue participates for two
years. The dinner also presents a show where well-known Argentine
artists participate.
