VALLE DE LOS ANDES CIRCUIT

Take Route 40 to the North and drive 27 kilometres, as far as Route
222 which will take you to Las Leñas and then take the deviation
left. The road to Las Leñas is paved but after this valley it is a
compacted road and vehicles must be high and preferably 4x4 all
terrain. It is here that the Andes Valleys’ run begins.
Soon one will be driving up to the Cuesta del Infernillo and the
view of the the Salado River will appear at the bottom. And, on the
other side there is a lava overflow which lends the name Infiernillo
(small hell) which made the crossing very difficult before the road
was made.
From the Infiernillo’s maximum height of 1,816 metres above sea
level, one comes to the San Luis de los Blancos outpost from where
there is access to the Laguna de la Niña Encantada. If one crosses
the pedestrian bridge over the Salado River, there is a picturesque
green water small lake formed in an old volcanic chimney which is
full of beautiful trout.
The Valle de los Molles is 7 kilometres farther with its thermal
waters, the offer of adventure activities and other services like
petrol station, groceries, accommodation and restaurants.
