Take Route 40 towards the South of Malargue, cross over the bridge

Bardas Blancas village on the spot of kilometre 63.
THIS IS A GOOD PLACE TO MAKE A STOP AND ENJOY THE TYPICAL REGIONAL FOOD.
Then take the deviation that goes to the Cavern and drive for about
7 kilometres where you will find a place combining beauty, mystery,
history and the capriciousness of nature. Go to the Information
Centre. Specialized wardens and guides will accompany you in your
visit to the cavern. They will also provide the equipment required
for entry and will collect the entrance fee.
DO TAKE COMFORTABLE CLOTHING AND SHOES.
The cavern is located in the Moncol Cerro at 1,930 meters above sea
level and is made up of Jurassic layers.
The entrance to the cavern measures 1.80 metres of height. The
interior is divided in halls where you will appreciate the
stalactites the stalagmites formations sticking out in the darkness
of the cavern. These crystal-like formations are shaped by constant
dropping of water as it is extremely humid inside. Each centimetre
of these formations takes about one thousand three hundred years to
be formed and is still growing today. People say that this cavern is
very much alive.
The extension covered during the visit is approximately 200 metres
and it will result into a moving, unforgettable experience.
